Fresno and Clovis

Fresno/Clovis is the largest city in central California. The climate is warm, the winter is not too cold, and the summer is relatively hot for three months. It is 4 hours and 30 minutes away by car from the Bay Area and 4 hours away from Los Angeles. Surrounded by mountains, it is only 1.5 hours away from the two national parks of Yosemite and Kings Valley. It is also only a 2.5-hour drive from the sea. Fresno is the best place for people who like outdoor activities such as mountain climbing and skiing. The cost of living in Fresno is one of the lowest in California, the main reason is the affordable housing.

Population and traffic in Fresno

Benefiting from California's strong economic development, Fresno has developed rapidly in the past decade. The population of Fresno has grown steadily since the last century, exceeding 1 million, and with great diversity. Population growth has led to the rapid development of the real estate industry. Although the progress on the construction of high-speed rail is slow, it has already started in various locations. The initial plan is to officially open the northbound high-speed rail to the Bay Area in 2025, which also provides conditions for the further development of Fresno and the further increase in housing prices.

Live in Fresno

Due to population development, land is relatively cheap, and new houses are constantly being built.  The construction of a large number of new houses has also suppressed housing prices. 

Like every city, there are good areas and bad areas in Fresno/Clovis. Statistically north part of Fresno and Clovis has a very low crime rate compared to the other areas. If safety is your biggest concern, I personally recommend the districts 93720, 93730, 93611, and 93619.

School district

 

Central California has one of the best school districts in California - the Clovis unified school district. It covers Clovis and the affluent districts of Fresno in the north. Among them, elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools in the 93,720, 93,730, 93611, and 93619 districts have 10 points.

Investment housing

​

The Fresno/Clovis area is one of the few low-cost cities in California. The population has grown rapidly in recent years, and the increase in rents has continued to exceed the increase in housing prices. In addition to the above several districts, 93612, 93710, and 93726 are also good choices for buying investment houses. Although the houses are older, they are supported by Fresno state university, and the rent has been guaranteed over the years.
